I love rich textures and bold prints - this dress has both! The floral velour was meant for a different project but I decided to go another direction. I did not plan this out ahead of time like I usually do, it was sort of an experiment. Which means I took no pictures along the way... but I have a few tricks that I learned as I went!

No DIY instructions on this post, just photos. The Minions are coming! Here's Gru and his Minion crew: Kevin, Stuart and Bob, along with his loyal dog Kyle. E's favourite movie is Minions, so this was a big hit! It's a pretty simple costume to put together and easy to duplicate for a big group. I've included some tips and a how to guide for the goggles.
Skill level: Beginner I'm always trying to capture that French style. Beautiful and simple. I made this skirt to look elegant, but still be comfy to wear all day (hello elastic waistband). It's a great piece that can be dressed up or dressed down.
Skill level: Intermediate I’ve made these baby bottoms so many times I could almost sew them blindfolded! To add some flare, I embellished with leather patches. It’s easy, and can be done in all kinds of different fabric combos.
